<image:title>Blog - Making Your Own Aromatherapy Bath Salts - Bath salts are very affordable to make and require no harsh ingredients.</image:title>
<image:caption>Creating your own bath salts is a terrific way to enjoy aromatherapy at home. Surprisingly, bath salts are very affordable to make and require no harsh ingredients. In fact, the main ingredients in bath salts include baking soda, sea salt and epsom salt. Each of these are commonly found in a local grocery or retail store and are safe to use. Certain bath products found in most retail stores contain harsh ingredients that can irritate the skin. The advantage to creating your own bath salts is that you know which ingredients are going into your product and you can have the peace of mind in knowing that they are safe to use. Individuals can make their own aromatherapy bath salts by starting with a large mixing bowl and a spoon or other similar utensil. The next step is to add 3 cups of epsom salt, 2 cups of baking soda and 1 cup of sea salt into the mixing bowl. Once each of the ingredients are added, begin mixing them with your hand or the spoon. Once mixing is complete, slowly add food coloring to the mixture. Normal food coloring will work fine and should be added according to the color that you prefer your bath salts to be. Adding more drops will darken the color and adding fewer will make it softer. Some individuals enjoy mixing the colors in order to get a unique hue, but this mixture should be done prior to placing the coloring into the mixing bowl with your other ingredients. The final step is to add essential oils until the desired scent is achieved. The best way to determine when the scent is perfect is simply by using your own judgement. Bath salts should be strongly scented in order to allow for less salts to be required for each bath, which will enable them to last longer. Using the steps and ingredients as noted above, you can also use a bowl with a lid and shake the mixture, food coloring and essential oils until it is perfectly blended. This will save you time from stirring but, otherwise, the procedure to creating your own aromatherapy bath salts is the same. In Munay, Jamie</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Energy Healing. How to Protect Yourself Against Energy Vampires - Energy stealers are everywhere!</image:title>
<image:caption>They are your family members, your friends and they are your co-workers and YOU may even be one yourself. A more common name is an Energy Vampire and we all know what vampires do! In this case the vampire is sucking our vital energy, depleting us and causing us to become unhealthy emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. Spiritual purification and cord cutting are some tools that can keep the vampires away! What does the term Energy Vampire mean anyway? An Energy Vampire is a person that steals other people’s energies because they are living their life in a victim consciousness and believe that everything happens to them. Living in this manner is very dis-empowering. Therefore in order for them to feel better about themselves they need to attach themselves to another person’s energy field. In order for an Energy Vampire to attach themselves to your energy body, they form cords attaching the two of you together. These cords are not visible to the naked eye but they can be seen with the psychic third eye, or you can feel them if you are sensitive enough. When they need a boost, they unconsciously steal your energy instead of using their own! These cords are also like highways and run both ways! That means that you will also receive their energy whether it is positive or negative. If they have a headache, you may also develop a headache. If they are depressed, you may become depressed. If they are angry, you may become angry and so on. As you can see, this can be very detrimental to your health. At an unconscious level, you have allowed the vampire or vampires to attach themselves to your energy body through these cords. These cords prevent you from really being the real you! It is imperative that these cords be severed and sometimes a spiritual purification is required for your well-being and also for the growth of the other person. How do we recognize an Energy Vampire? Some traits of the dis-empowered energy stealer are: Feels lonely or abandoned Feels they have been rejected Needs constant reassurance Never feels satisfied Doesn’t like to be alone Seeks nurturing or feels they need to be taken care of Low energy and fatigued They have a poor me attitude Is a drama king or queen Constant talker that never allows you to speak Needs you to be their therapist or rescuer fixing their problems The blamer making you feel guilty about things Vindictive by putting you down A person that is unhappy a lot Tries controlling you or your life Manipulates you to get things their way How do I know if I am being psychically attacked? You may experience: Dizziness Loss of energy Muscle tension Mental confusion Headaches Chronic fatigue Sleep disturbances Irritability Depressed mood Physical illness Small diminishing aura Leaks, holes and/or tears in your aura And a whole lot more! I know, you are now thinking that almost everyone can be like that! Unfortunately, too many people are simply not aware of their energetic bodies and how they operate. Once people start taking responsibility for creating their own lives and taking back their personal power this will not be as prevalent. (Granted other conditions also can be the cause of these symptoms besides being energetically attacked.) Either way it is detrimental to your health, in all areas of your energetic being, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. How do I protect myself from this? First you need to become aware of which individuals deplete your energy and then limit your contact with them. But simply not being in their physical presence does not stop them from draining you! You need to release all the negative emotions that you carry within yourself. If you hold anger, hurt, jealousy, etc. inside your being, it is like you are shackled to a ball and chain, holding you hostage with your own creation! Releasing of all negative emotions brings freedom as fear is the robber of peace. Why must I do this? Because any disharmony in our four energetic bodies will cause us to be vulnerable, so that darkness and confusion can enter. Being aware of this is empowering. I stress this, do not go into fear now that you are aware of this. Simply take the steps to protect yourself. Darkness consists of anything that is of a lower/heavier vibration such as anger, fear, depression, jealousy, hatred etc. When angry thoughts are directed at you, they can penetrate your weak and vulnerable areas like arrows. What happens is they take away your clarity and fill you with confusion and drain your energy. The following are some tools to empower yourself from Energy Vampires. Here is a simple cord cutting exercise. Cord cutting should be done on a daily basis and much more often when we are going through a stressful period in our life. These cords should be cut from our loved ones as well. No cord attached to anyone or thing is good! Take some deep cleansing breaths. In through the nose and out through the mouth. Call upon Spirit and your Spirit Guides and ask for assistance in cutting all cords that are attached to your being. Visualize Spirit and your Guide’s positive energy swirling around your entire being severing all the cords. Know that no cord can remain intact and they are returning to where they came from. When you feel the process is complete, thank Spirit and your Guides for their assistance. It is done. Here are some physical steps for purification: Burn all relevant photographs or objects holding memories of the person, place or situation. Write down all feelings of frustration, anger, hurt, fear, etc., and burn the paper or bury it. Please don’t give it to the person! Repeat this step as often as necessary. Clear all the clutter from every room of your home. Rule of thumb. If you haven’t used it in 6 months it’s not likely you will! Get rid of it. Clean and if necessary redecorate your home. Bringing nature indoors is wonderful energy! Check there are no books in your bookshelves or pictures on your walls that have negative energy. Surround yourself with high vibrational objects, spiritual books, spiritual pictures, plants, fresh flowers etc. Smudge with sage, cedar and sweet-grass and invoke the help of Spirit, your Guides and your Higher Self. Cleanse and purify your crystals and dedicate them to the Light. Light candles and use high vibrational pure essential oils. You now have the tools and knowledge to take back your personal power. I invite you to empower yourself today! In Munay, Jamie</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Meditation and The Mind - Meditation is an art that has been around since the dawn of humankind.</image:title>
<image:caption>This is not a statement to be brushed over. After all, many things about humankind have changed over time, but the profound art of meditation is something we have clung on to dearly. This is because there is no substitute for meditation. Nothing else, single handedly, bestows the many wonderful blessings that meditation brings. In fact, nothing else even comes close. Hopefully, this article will inspire you to also learn and practice this timeless art. The mind of one who meditates is like the easy, leisurely flow of the Ganges River, as compared to the ordinary mind, which is like Niagara Falls. In other words, your mind is at peace, deeply silent and so you are at peace. Meditation opens up the channels of communication between all levels of your being. What this means is that you have access now to the guidance that is coming directly from your Divine Self. This link gives rise to the flow of intuition and wisdom. Meditation strips away the layers of false identity that mask your True Self from shining through. Once you eliminate these false egos and stop catering to their nonsense, you can reside in your True Nature. This brings forth joy and happiness as it allows you to be at ease with life, existence and yourself. All serious meditators know how much their brain function has been enhanced by meditation. Now, empirical studies every day are indicating this link. Meditation will undoubtedly increase your awareness. This will give you insight into who you really are and what you really love in life. That is the secret of mastering the art of living and discovering your true talents, gifts and purpose. That which you love, you do for its own sake without the need for reward or accolades. Once this is discovered, life can be lived with passion, zeal and independence. The one ultimate purpose of meditation is enlightenment. To help you discover the true nature of reality. To make you realize that your True Self is Divine and One with the Universe. Take your time and practice meditation today so that you can start feeling better tomorrow. This is going to be a life changing experience for you. If you make the most of it, you will start being a more positive person, and feel more complete. Good luck and enjoy your meditation practices each day. DM for assistance. In Munay, Jamie</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Meditation to Improve Health - Continuous rhythm of inhales and exhales of the breath will make the person feel more calm and relaxed.</image:title>
<image:caption>According to Buddhism, a person can reach Nirvana or the highest state of enlightenment through continuous meditation and by participating in the Buddha’s daily service, among other things. Over time, many people have benefited from the practice of meditation. Meditation, as practiced by Buddhist monks and practitioners, has become a spiritual tool and health enhancer. More than just the chants and meditative posture, meditation is about proper breathing and concentration of one’s thoughts. As a health and spiritual practice, meditation came into prominence centuries ago. How do we know if we are already in a state of meditation or just wasting away time with our eyes closed? Meditation is a state of mind that leads to inner peace, self-fulfillment, self-improvement, and the development of a positive outlook in life. There are two types of meditation; the concentrative and the mindfulness type. Concentrative is focused on the person’s concentration, sitting quietly and calmly with good breathing patterns. It is said that one’s mind is somewhat connected to one’s breath of air. Continuous rhythm of inhales and exhales of the breath will make the person feel more calm and relaxed, focusing on the steady flow of air in and out of their bodies. This will result in the mind being more aware and tranquil at the same time. Mindfulness, on the other hand, involves attention and awareness on passing waves of sensations, images, feelings, thoughts, sounds, smell, anything that your body can interact with. This in turn will give the person a more non-reactive mind state, much like looking at a television, without any feeling or thoughts that can bother you. Meditation and relaxation often go hand in hand. In scientific studies, it has been proven that there are health benefits in regularly practicing meditation. By being in a relaxed state of mind, the person is also regarded as being in an alpha state, which is a level of consciousness that promotes good healing. Since people are constantly moving, being in a state of relaxation and stillness can enhance our overall well-being. Knowing all this, one can see the connection of both scientific and spiritual factors that are brought together by meditation. Indeed, this activity shows a unique philosophy that can really help. In practicing meditation, a person can see their innermost self at its fullest. This can help a person dealing with external difficulties to see past all the challenges and become more humble and calm in dealing with situations. This relaxed state of meditating can also help take away simple headaches, stress, or even mild anxiety. There are no known ways that meditation can be harmful, so it is time NOW for you to begin this. Need help, DM me. In Munay, Jamie</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Meditation: A Path To Inner Peace - Meditation is one of the proven alternative therapies.</image:title>
<image:caption>Throughout history, meditation has been an integral part of many cultures. Records indicate that meditation was practiced in ancient Greece and India more than 5,000 years ago. In the Buddhist religion, meditation is an important part of their spiritual practice. Different forms of meditation are practiced in China and Japan, and Christianity, Judaism, and Islam have traditions similar to meditation. The word meditation comes from the Latin meditari which means: exercise, turn something over in one’s mind, think, consider. It is defined as consciously directing your attention to alter your state of mind. Meditation is one of the proven alternative therapies that in recent years have been classified under mind-body medicine therapies. It is continuing to gain popularity, as more and more health experts believe that there is more to the connection between mind and body than modern medicine can explain. According to researchers, meditation has been shown to aid the immune system and improve brain activity. More and more doctors are prescribing meditation as a way to lower blood pressure, to improve exercise performance, to help people with asthma to breathe easier, to relieve insomnia, and generally relax everyday stresses of life. Many hospitals now offer meditation classes for their patients because of the health benefits. All promote physiological health and well-being. Traditionally, meditation has been used for spiritual growth, but more recently has become a valuable tool for managing stress and finding a place of peace, relaxation, and tranquility in a demanding fast-paced world. Benefits resulting from meditation include: physical and emotional healing; easing stress, fear, and grief; improved breathing; developing intuition; deep relaxation; exploring higher realities; finding inner guidance; unlocking creativity; manifesting change; emotional cleansing and balancing; and deepening concentration and insight. Meditation elicits many descriptive terms: stillness, silence, tranquility, peace, quiet, and calm. All counter stress and tension. Lama Surya Das in his book Awakening The Buddha Within says, Meditation is not just something to do; it’s a method of being and seeing an unconditional way of living moment by moment. In other words, learning to live in this moment because this moment is all we have. Henry Winkler is quoted as saying; Meditation is an opportunity to shake hands with ourselves in a safe, simple way and to balance our emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. A human being’s first responsibility is to shake hands with herself. For more information and help in going as deep in Meditation as you have never been before, DM me. <image:title>Blog - How Do I Manifest? - It is the same with trying to manifest your desires.</image:title>
<image:caption>If you are asking the question how do I manifest, then read this. Learning to manifest your desires is similar to learning to swim. So how is swimming similar to manifesting? Both manifesting and swimming requires total trust, i.e. letting go. In the case of manifesting, you need to let go of your need to control the outcome and trust that you shall receive that which you seek. In the case of swimming you trust that you will not drown. Everyone who has learned to swim will tell you that fear causes you to sink. Lack of fear allows you to float. And even if you go down it will be temporary and you’ll soon bob back to the surface. It is the same with trying to manifest your desires. Accept your desires as already having been fullfiled. If you have any doubts whatsoever, that this is not so, you will fail to attract your desires. You can fool people, but you cannot fool the Universe. Every thought, feeling or doubt, no matter how slight is vibrated out to the Universe. Those who have only just learned to swim can realize the parallels between swimming and manifesting. They are baffled by the fact that they had difficulty keeping their head above water, while experienced swimmers didn’t have such a problem. They would swim effortlessly while others struggled. That was until the instructor said, “The reason you sink is because you don’t trust the water to keep you up. You’re afraid that if you let go, you’ll go down.” And they understand. It is the same with manifesting your desires! No trust, no manifestation. It’s only when you totally and unequivocally trust that your desires are as good as having already been delivered, that the manifestation will appear. The proof of your total trust is when you express your gratitude and already start celebrating, in spite of your present reality, which may be the exact opposite of what you desire. However, just as it is with swimming, getting to that point doesn’t happen overnight. We first have to let go of our fears which are a product of our past experiences. Until we choose to change and do things differently, we will continue to get the things we’ve always gotten. In short, the answer to the question, how do I manifest, is to just trust. Trust that the Universe wants what’s best for you and is fully capable to supply what you want. Trust that if you follow the laws of attraction and of manifestation, you shall certainly have everything you want. Trust that just as the water lifts you up and lets you float, the Universe shall keep your head above the tides of life, irrespective of how fearful things may seem right now. <image:title>Blog - Manifestation - How Mindset and Action Can Work to Manifest Your Desires</image:title>
<image:caption>So you think you understand the principles of manifesting, but you cannot explain why these things are still not coming to you. You believe that we create our reality. You understand the laws of attraction, and believe that what we think about we attract into our experience. You have even been practicing these principles, that is, when you remember to. When you think about it, you are repeating affirmations such as: My perfect relationship is available and I deserve to have it. My income level is constantly increasing. Okay, then, why is that perfect relationship or more income not what you’re experiencing? You may be trying to blame your parents for instilling some limiting belief that money is bad or that there is something spiritual about suffering. It really doesn’t matter where some of your beliefs come from or how many of them you have. There is a way around this. You need to focus on the beliefs that do serve you better such as: The Universe is full of abundance. The Universe wants to bring my desires to me. You may be feeling unworthy. If you don’t think that you deserve to be happy and successful, how can you possibly create that in your life? Okay, so now you are 1) believing that it IS possible to have all you desire. And, 2) you are now feeling worthy. You feel like you have done your part and now you are just waiting for the Universe to fullfil those desires. There is another little piece here that could perhaps be the missing link. Take action you say. I thought that I just have to ask and know that the Universe will supply, and presto! It appears. Not so fast, let’s see how taking action can assist in this process. But wait a minute here. When you take action, any action, in the direction of your desire, you are showing the Universe that you are serious. It also facilitates the process because you have focused your attention on your action instead of your waiting. This action does not need to be huge earth-shattering stuff. This action can come from a feeling of inspiration, intuition, or even coincidental events. Start to feel it inside you, that it has already happened. Feel it in your heart and keep feeling it as many time during the day you can. Especially first thing in the morning, and last thing before going to sleep. One very important thing to keep in mind when you do take action: be sure to feel good about it, about yourself and what you want. Now you know how to assist the Universe in fulfilling your dreams. <image:title>Blog - History of Wicca - The history of Wicca, also known as The Craft.</image:title>
<image:caption>The history of Wicca, also known as The Craft, is complex but traditional Wicca is rooted in the so-called “British Mystery Traditions”. For example, the Picts, who existed before the rise of Celtic consciousness, the Celts, and some Celtic Druidism. Wicca predates Christianity by about 28,000 years. A variety of archaeological discoveries reveal that the history of Wicca can be traced as far back as the Paleolithic peoples who worshipped a Hunter God and a Fertility Goddess. Cave paintings, that are dated at around 30,000 years old, depict a man with the head of a stag, and a pregnant woman standing in a circle with eleven other people. Modern American Wicca has its roots in British Wicca, brought to the United States in the late 1950’s by English and American initiates of Gardnerian, Alexandrian and Celtic Wicca. These are different forms of Wiccan tradition. All of these cultures form part and parcel of the history of Wicca. The ancient Greek Mysteries of Eleusis, Italian Mysteries of Rome, Etruria, Mysteries of Egypt and Persia before Islam, and various Babylonian, Assyrian and other mid-eastern Mysteries also find a place in the history of Wicca and its beliefs and traditional practices. Perhaps the best way to describe Wicca is to call it a modern religion, based on ancient witchcraft traditions. But do bear in mind that not all those who practice witchcraft today are Wiccas. Wicca is both a belief system and a way of life. Over the years, information about how Wiccan ancestors lived and worshipped has been lost due to actions of the medieval church. However, modern Wiccas have tried to reconstruct the history of Wicca in an effort to lay the foundation for their practices. During ancient times Wicca was called “The Craft of the Wise”. This name was derived from the fact that most Wiccas aligned themselves with the forces of nature. They also had knowledge of herbs and medicines, gave council and were important in the village and community as Shamanic healers and leaders. The history of Wicca indicates that Wiccas once had a prized place in society which is quite a contrast to how they are viewed today. Ancient Wiccas felt that humans were not superior to nature, the earth, and its creatures. Instead, they were only one aspect of the world. The idea of sustainable development to maintain balance and equilibrium was central to the belief systems of the ancient Wicca. The history of Wicca is a far cry from the way that humankind views the earth today. In the last several hundred years, witchcraft and witches have been incorrectly labeled as evil and unrighteous. Where do these ideas that form so much a part of the history of Wicca originate? Some Wiccas believe that the medieval church of the 15th through 18th centuries created these myths. This was done in an effort to convert people to Christianity. The history of Wicca contains many stories of the persecution of witches based on so called “evil practices”. Another theory about the history of Wicca is that as medical science became more prominent in society those who did these initial studies did not understand female physiology, especially menstruation. This mystery seemed to fit in with the churches agenda in labeling healers as evil heathens and placing power and respect in the hands of male physicians. Many of these myths and superstitions have survived in modern times giving The Craft a bad name. While Wicca is essentially witchcraft, those who practice it usually do not refer to it as such because of these negative connotations. The history of Wicca is important since it is the persecution of those who practiced it that has led to its current ethics of religious freedom first. In Munay, Jamie</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Correcting Your Birth Time - Rectification is an Important Investment</image:title>
<image:caption>When you don’t know your time of birth or suspect it is off by a few minutes or more, you can have your birth time rectified. Rectification is a very time-consuming process that involves forecasting backwards in your life and adjusting your birth time until it coincides with all the significant events in your life. It can be a costly investment. However, the time and costs can be considerably less if you have a birth time on your birth certificate from which to start the process, and if you have a very good memory for as many events in your life as possible. Rectification is not a job for an amateur; not even all professional astrologers are up to the task. But, for astrology to work properly, an accurate birth time is essential, and rectification is the best way to determine it. So if you want to get your chart rectified, start by obtaining a copy of your birth certificate and then make a detailed list of all the significant events in your life (e.g., births, deaths, relocations, marriages, divorces, career moves, etc.), asking your friends and family members for help along the way if you can’t remember exact dates, times or places. After you’ve done all of this preparatory work, you can start looking for an astrologer who is experienced in rectification. Rectification is an important investment for anyone who regularly uses and relies on astrology for guidance in life. Once your exact birth time has been properly determined, you will find that astrological consultations are far more accurate than you ever imagined possible, and that the predictive advice you receive will be right on the money. <image:title>Blog - Toxins and the Gut-Brain - Research increasingly shows that most of the diseases of modern living begin in the gut and are related to our diet.</image:title>
<image:caption>The gut-brain is a superhighway with many lanes where information is continuously flowing between the brain in the head and the brain in the belly. Mental and emotional stress triggers physical responses that affect the gut, while disturbances in the microbiome – the colony of microorganisms in the gut – affect the functioning and health of the brain. Every day, toxins inside and outside the body damage our gut-brain. They come from the foods we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe. Our bodies contain over 600 varieties of microbes that come from the outside world, outnumbering by ten to one the cells that are strictly native to us. Small wonder so many of us have digestive and immune disorders: our bodies are overwhelmed by the toxic load we’ve placed on them. Our ancestors were largely protected from these challenges. For hundreds of thousands of years, the earth was able to accommodate changes brought about by human intervention. That changed, however, as we started to mine natural products like lead and mercury, and introduce them into our homes – and bodies – through everyday products like paint, bathtubs, light bulbs, lead pipes, and dental fillings, and more recently through contaminated fish and seafood. Mercury is a known neurotoxin, and both lead and mercury have been implicated in developmental problems like learning disabilities and ADHD. Metals like lead and mercury are stored in body fat, and nearly 60 percent of the brain is made up of fat. In the last century or so, we’ve released thousands upon thousands of man-made chemicals into the environment. Data on how these chemicals affect us are scarce: of the 82,000 chemicals approved for use in the United States, only a quarter have been tested for their effect on humans. The havoc we’ve created with man-made chemicals reverberates throughout the food chain. But it may be matched by another, even more insidious threat in the foods we eat every day. Much of the toxic overload in our guts comes from genetically modified foods. In most cases, we don’t even realize toxins are on the menu. Scientists are increasingly altering the DNA of foods and food crops to create products that will last longer, be more resistant to disease and pests, and look and taste better. In addition to genetic engineering, we’re faced with new diseases caused by widespread reliance on a grain-based diet. One of the problems is that the wheat we’re eating is not the same wheat people ate even 75 years ago. The post–World War II green revolution introduced a high-yield dwarf wheat containing 20 times more gluten (a protein that gives dough its elasticity) than the old European strains, thereby altering the composition of the bread we’re consuming. The dramatic increase in celiac disease – a debilitating autoimmune disorder in which ingesting gluten damages the gut – is likely related to this major change in our diets. The harsh truth is that we have all become gluten intolerant to a surprising degree because the human digestive system hasn’t evolved to function well on a grain-based diet. Grains have become toxic to many of us, and our grain-rich diets are damaging the gut-brain. But the deadliest toxin found in nearly every kitchen in America is sugar. The typical American adult consumes 150 pounds of added sugar a year. Processed foods are sources of much of this amount. Even foods we don’t think of as sweet – like catsup, peanut butter, and yogurt – often contain sugar or substitutes like aspartame, saccharine, sucralose and high fructose corn syrup. Artificial sweeteners have been linked to type 2 diabetes. Food cravings – particularly for sugary junk foods – can be traced to the gut-brain. You may think you’re gorging on chocolate cake or tortilla chips because you love the taste, but the real reason is that the yeast, fungi, and bad bacteria in your gut thrive on sugar, and to get their fix they bring on cravings. Sugary foods and carbohydrates stimulate the same centers in the brain that are stimulated by drugs like heroin and cocaine by releasing the neurotransmitter dopamine, which triggers a pleasure response. Sugar in all forms (except honey) reduces levels of BDNF, brain-derived neurotrophic factor, a hormone that triggers the growth of new neurons and stem cells in the brain, repairing crucial brain structures. It is even thought that the connection between diabetes and Alzheimer’s is attributable to the typical Western diet. Inadequate BDNF production is also associated with depression. While it’s virtually impossible to avoid environmental toxins, we can try to avoid GMOs by shopping our local farmer’s market. Detoxifying from sugar and gluten requires cutting out fruit juices, fruits with high sugar content, root vegetables and all processed grains. If this seems unnecessarily strict, note that the minimum daily requirement of processed carbohydrates is zero. <image:title>Blog - The Ultimate Ways To Clear And Charge Your Chakras - Chakras are energy centers in the body that correspond to different physical and emotional states. When these chakras are blocked or out of balance, it can lead to physical and emotional issues.</image:title>
<image:caption>Clearing and energizing your chakras can help restore balance, we experience a sense of well-being, mental clarity, physical vitality and promote overall wellbeing. Here are some of the best ways to clear your chakras: Illumination: In my own experience and practice with clients the most effective and rapid way to clear, charge and energize chakras is by performing a 7 chakra illumination. This is a Shamanic Energy Medicine practice either done in person with the client or remotely. The results are rapid and life changing. Meditation: Meditation is a powerful and effective way for clearing and energizing your chakras. Focus on each chakra, starting from the base of your spine and working your way up. Visualize each chakra as a spinning wheel of energy, radiating vibrant colors and clearing any blockages. Yoga: Yoga is another effective way to clear your chakras. Certain poses can help balance and energize your chakras. Each yoga pose targets specific chakras, helping to release any blockages and restore energy flow, promoting balance and healing. Sound healing: Sound healing involves using different frequencies and vibrations to clear blockages and restore balance in the chakras. This can be done through listening to specific music or using instruments like singing bowls or tuning forks. Reiki: Reiki is a form of energy healing that involves channeling energy through the hands to clear, balance and energize chakras and promote healing. It involves the use of gentle touch to channel energy to each chakra. A trained practitioner can help you clear your chakras through a Reiki session. Aromatherapy: Certain essential oils can help stimulate specific chakras, promoting balance and healing. Each oil corresponds to a specific chakra, and inhaling or applying the oil to the corresponding area can help to restore balance and vitality. For example, lavender can help balance the crown chakra, while peppermint can stimulate the solar plexus chakra. Crystals: Certain crystals are associated with specific chakras and can be used to promote balance and healing. For example, amethyst is associated with the crown chakra, while citrine is associated with the solar plexus chakra. Each chakra has its own colour and corresponding crystal to help maximize its energy and flow. Other ways I find very effective are, The Breath of Fire Practice, The Psychic Cleanse, Water Cleanse, Yellow Rose Cleanse, The Tapping Technique, The Chakra Blessing Cleanse, and incorporating your 8th, 9th and 10 Chakras in a very powerful and dynamic process. By incorporating some of these practices into your daily routine, you can help clear your chakras and promote overall wellbeing. It’s important to remember that clearing your chakras is a process, and it may take time and patience to see results. However, with consistent practice and dedication, you can achieve balance and harmony in your body, mind and spirit. To book a session or for more information contact me directly. <image:title>Blog - The Importance Of Being Fit And Healthy With Balanced Chakras - It is more important than ever to prioritize our health and wellness.</image:title>
<image:caption>In the midst of the last global pandemic, and I hear there is another one planned for 2025! It is more important than ever to prioritize our health and wellness. Not only does being fit and healthy help protect us from illness and dis-ease, but it also promotes a sense of well-being and balance in our lives. Also, maintaining balanced chakras can have a profound impact on our overall health and energy levels. One of the main reasons it is important to be fit and healthy right now is to protect ourselves from illness. The COVID-19 virus has highlighted the importance of a strong immune system, regular exercise and a healthy diet are two of the best ways to support our immune system. Exercise has been shown to boost the production of white blood cells, which are responsible for fighting off infections and diseases. Meanwhile, a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains provides our bodies with the nutrients and antioxidants necessary to support our immune system. In addition to protecting us from illness, being fit and healthy also promotes a sense of well-being and balance in our lives. Regular exercise has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, boost mood, and improve sleep quality. Meanwhile, a healthy diet can help regulate mood and energy levels, reducing feelings of fatigue and lethargy. By prioritizing our physical health, we create a positive feedback loop that supports our mental and emotional well-being as well. However, it is not just physical health that is important right now. Our chakras, or energy centers, also play a critical role in our overall health and well-being. When our chakras are balanced and aligned, we experience a sense of harmony and vitality in our lives. However, when our chakras are blocked or unbalanced, we may experience adverse physical, emotional, or spiritual symptoms. There are seven main chakras in the body, each of which corresponds to a different aspect of our being. For example, the root chakra, located at the base of the spine, is associated with grounding and stability, while the heart chakra is associated with love and compassion. More to follow on this. By practicing yoga, meditation, and Shamanic Wellness and Energy Healing, we can help balance and align our chakras, promoting greater health and well-being. In conclusion, being fit and healthy and maintaining balanced chakras are critical for our overall health and well-being, especially in the midst of upcoming man made diseases that we will be subjected to in the near future. By prioritizing our physical health through regular exercise and a healthy diet, we support our immune system and promote a sense of well-being and balance in our lives. Meanwhile, by practicing yoga, meditation, or other energy work, we can help balance and align our chakras, promoting greater vitality and harmony. By taking care of ourselves in these ways, we can navigate these challenging times with greater resilience and strength. For more information, please contact me. In Munay, Jamie</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Rites and Ritual, Ceremonies and Initiations - Rites and rituals, ceremonies and initiations play an important role in many cultures and religions around the world.</image:title>
<image:caption>They are used to mark significant life events, transitions, and milestones, and to connect individuals and communities with something greater than themselves. Rites and rituals provide a sense of structure and meaning to our lives, helping us to understand the world around us and our place in it. They can also be a source of comfort and support during difficult times. Ceremonies and services are often used to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away, providing a space for people to come together and share their grief and memories. They can also be used to celebrate joyous occasions such as weddings, graduations, and other achievements. Overall, rites and rituals, ceremonies and services serve as a way to connect with our past, present, and future, and to forge deeper connections with those around us. They provide a sense of belonging and community, and help us to make sense of the world and our place in it. Some of these include: Pregnancy / Fertility Fertility and pregnancy rituals have been practiced for centuries across cultures to honor and celebrate the creation of new life. This ritual is a celebration of their growth, accomplishments, and potential. It helps them to gain a deeper understanding of their identity and purpose, while also connecting them to their community and cultural traditions. Graduations A Graduation Ceremony is an important milestone in a student’s academic journey. It provides a sense of accomplishment and closure, recognizing the hard work and dedication that went into earning the degree. It also offers an opportunity to celebrate with family and friends, and to reflect on the memories and lessons learned during the academic years. Marriage / Weddings Marriage is an important institution that signifies commitment, love, and partnership. The wedding ceremony is a public declaration of this commitment and marks the beginning of a new chapter in the couple’s lives. It is a celebration of love and the start of a lifelong journey together, and holds great significance for both the couple and their families. Vow Renewals A vow renewal ceremony is a wonderful way to celebrate a marriage and reaffirm the commitment between partners. It allows couples to reflect on their journey together, and to renew their love and commitment to each other. It is also a chance to share this special moment with family and friends, and to create new memories together. Divorce A divorce ceremony can be a meaningful way to provide closure and healing after the end of a marriage. It acknowledges the end of a significant chapter in life and allows for a ritualistic release of negative emotions. It can also provide a sense of empowerment and a fresh start for the future. Wise Man – Elder The Wise Man/Elder Ceremony is a vital tradition in many cultures worldwide. It recognizes the importance of older individuals in communities and acknowledges their wisdom and contributions. Memorials A Memorial Ceremony provides an opportunity to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. It allows individuals to come together in a shared expression of grief and support, providing comfort and solace. Additionally, it can serve as a way to celebrate the life and legacy of the deceased, ensuring that their memory lives on. Rites of The Munay-Ki The Munay-Ki Rites are a powerful transformational tool that can help individuals connect with their true essence and awaken their spiritual power. These ancient shamanic teachings provide a pathway for personal growth, healing, and evolution, leading to a deeper understanding of oneself and the world around us. The Munay-Ki Rites are essential for those seeking to align with their highest potential and live a life of purpose and meaning. In conclusion, rituals are an essential part of human life as they provide structure, meaning, and a sense of belonging. They allow us to connect with our past and present while also providing a framework for our future. By engaging in rituals, we can cultivate a sense of mindfulness, gratitude, and purpose in our lives, ultimately leading to greater happiness and fulfillment. “The human brain can only truly make changes through ceremony. It is like you missing your initiation into manhood, and become the eternal boy, collecting “toys” your entire life.” Dr Alberto Villoldo If any of these are of interest for you and your family, contact me for details and prices. <image:title>Blog - THE NEW HUMAN – HOMO LUMINOUS - This is a period of great transformation.</image:title>
<image:caption>Many prophesies in the indigenous world speak of this time in human history as a period of great transformation. In the medicine tradition of the Inca, legend tells of a great angel who looked into the future and saw that humanity would face an enormous task at the beginning of the 21st century. Extenuating circumstances in an extremely difficult and challenging time would require extraordinary effort to bring about peace and heal the heart of the world. “Who would like to volunteer?” the angel asked. Knowing we could make a difference, we jumped up and said, “Me!” The prophesies say there is to be a tremendous culling of humanity because the earth can no longer sustain the parasite that humanity has become. But every crisis brings with it a marvelous opportunity and this is why we stood up and said, “Me!” Our work is to find new solutions, to develop sustainable ecological practices in commerce, business, and medicine. This is what we came to do. The problems we face are vast and overwhelming. And they are no longer just a matter of global warming or carbon emissions, but of the possible collapse of the entire climate system – and in time, the social system as well. I see the main problem as a spiritual one, centered around human beliefs, the troublesome elements founded in our western mythology. It is a mythology that is predatory, that is abusive, that reaps the cream of the earth, that passes the furtive costs onto future generations and expresses itself in our economic, political, social, and educational systems. It is also practically the only mythology on the planet in which the feminine is eclipsed by the masculine. But you cannot repress the feminine without ill effect – eventually, it becomes deadly for a culture, and this is what has happened to us. We have to break free of these greedy, rapacious paradigms that see the earth as ours to consume, and the feminine as damned. My mentor believed that the new shamans, the new caretakers of the earth would come from the west. We are the ones who can bring healing and transformation to our families, to our communities, and to the earth. We are the change agents. This is a critical time in history, a time for a reawakening of the earth and of our own feminine. It is a time of tremendous transformation. All our old models are being reinvented, in every facet of society. Through this great transformation, a new human is emerging on the earth. I call this new human homo luminous. The shaman understands that evolution happens within generations. It is for us to take that quantum leap into who we are becoming. We can become homo luminous in our lifetime. This is our greatest task: to take that quantum leap individually because as we do it for ourselves, we do it for the entire planet. Each and every one of us, when we choose truth, when we choose light, when we choose a feminine theology of cooperation and sustainability, we are transforming the world. <image:title>Blog - Spiritual And Metaphysical Aspects Of Money - The concept of money goes beyond its tangible value and has spiritual and metaphysical implications.</image:title>
<image:caption>Money is a fundamental aspect of modern society, and it is often considered a measure of success and status. However, the concept of money goes beyond its tangible value and has spiritual and metaphysical implications. Money can be viewed as an expression of energy that reflects our beliefs, values, and attitudes towards abundance, prosperity, and wealth. From a spiritual perspective, money is an expression of the universal energy of abundance. Our thoughts and beliefs shape our reality, and the same applies to our relationship with money. If we harbor negative beliefs or emotions towards money, we are likely to experience scarcity or lack in our financial life. On the other hand, if we cultivate a positive mindset and appreciation for money, we are likely to attract more abundance and prosperity. Metaphysically, money represents the flow of energy in our lives. Money is a vehicle that enables us to exchange our time, skills, and resources with others. When we receive money, we are receiving an energy exchange for our contributions. Similarly, when we spend money, we are contributing to the energy flow of the economy and supporting the livelihoods of others. Therefore, our relationship with money is not only about personal gain but also about contributing to the greater good. At a deeper level, money can also reflect our spiritual values and purpose. Money can be used to support causes and organizations that align with our values and beliefs. By using our resources to make a positive impact in the world, we can create a sense of fulfillment and purpose that transcends monetary gain. In conclusion, money is not just a physical currency but also an expression of spiritual and metaphysical energy. Our relationship with money reflects our beliefs, values, and purpose, and it can be a tool for personal growth and contribution to society. By understanding the spiritual and metaphysical aspects of money, we can cultivate a positive mindset towards abundance and prosperity and use our resources to create a better world. <image:title>Blog - Does Passive Income Have Spiritual Benefits? - Money that is earned without active involvement in the earning process.</image:title>
<image:caption>Passive income is a term used to describe money that is earned without active involvement in the earning process. This type of income can come from various sources including rental properties, dividends, multi-level marketing and investments. The significance of passive income goes beyond just financial gain and can also have spiritual and metaphysical benefits. One of the spiritual benefits of passive income is the sense of freedom and security that it provides. When one is not reliant on a single source of income, they can feel more in control of their life and less anxious about the future. This can lead to a greater sense of inner peace and well-being. Another spiritual benefit of passive income is the opportunity it provides for personal growth. When one has more time and resources available, they can pursue hobbies, interests or even charitable causes that align with their values. This can lead to a sense of fulfillment and purpose that goes beyond financial gain. From a metaphysical perspective, passive income can also be seen as a manifestation of abundance. The law of attraction suggests that what we focus on expands and by focusing on creating passive income streams, we can attract more financial abundance into our lives. This can lead to a greater sense of prosperity and abundance on all levels. In addition to the spiritual and metaphysical benefits, passive income can also have practical benefits such as providing a safety net in case of job loss or unexpected expenses. It can also provide a source of income for retirement or allow for early retirement if desired. In conclusion, passive income is not just a financial strategy but also has spiritual and metaphysical significance. It can provide a sense of freedom, security, personal growth, and abundance. By focusing on creating passive income streams, one can achieve both financial and personal fulfillment. <image:title>Blog - The Spiritual Benefits of Fasting - Fasting can provide numerous spiritual and physical benefits for individuals who choose to incorporate it into their spiritual practice.</image:title>
<image:caption>Fasting has been a part of spiritual practice in many religions for centuries. The act of abstaining from food and drink for a certain period of time was believed to bring about spiritual benefits. One of the most significant benefits is that it helps to increase self-discipline and self-control. By denying oneself the so called pleasures of food and drink, individuals are able to focus on their spiritual goals and develop stronger willpower. Fasting also helps to purify the mind and body, allowing individuals to let go of negative thoughts and emotions and focus on positive energy. The act of fasting is believed to help individuals connect more deeply with their spiritual beliefs and values. It is a time for reflection, prayer and meditation, which can lead to a greater sense of inner peace and spiritual growth. In addition, fasting can also help to improve physical health. It has been shown to reduce inflammation, lower blood pressure and improve insulin sensitivity. These benefits can lead to a longer and healthier life, which can in turn contribute to a more fulfilled spiritual practice. Overall, fasting can provide numerous spiritual and physical benefits for individuals who choose to incorporate it into their spiritual practice. Many cultures observe some form of harvest festival. Few feasts, however, are as extravagant as Thanksgiving, which ushers in a whirlwind of excess. Of overeating, and of unbridled consumption of comfort food that often stretches into the month of December and concludes with a massive hangover on January 1. If you’re consuming large amounts of carbs, gaining weight around your belly, and experiencing mood swings and brain fog, it’s a good idea to spend a few days fasting. While most people in Western society think of fasting in terms of losing weight, that is a dangerous misuse of the practice. Fasting actually has significant health benefits (with weight loss being a small bonus). We fast to detox, turn on the body’s repair mechanisms and clear brain fog. Fasting brings about cleansing at a cellular level by triggering autophagy – in which debris inside the cells is recycled into a form the cells can use as building blocks. Research cardiologists at the Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute found that fasting lowers the risk of diabetes and coronary artery disease – the leading cause of death in America. Even during a very short fast, amazing things happen to the body and brain. In just 24 hours, the production of human growth hormone increases by a staggering 1,300 percent in men and 2,000 percent in women, repairing cells that make up our tissues. Short bouts of fasting can help us overcome addictions to sugar and carbs. When we feel stressed, many of us tend to gravitate to comfort foods that we grew up on. The result is that over the decades, the flora in our guts become addicted to sugars, carbs and nasty fats, so when we fast for more than 12 hours, the digestive flora go into revolt and begin releasing chemical toxins that signal starvation to the brain. Even though we don’t actually need nourishment, we become ravenously hungry, simply because the flora want to feed. The gut microbes are extraordinarily smart, however, and they learn quickly. In just 24 hours we can break their food addictions and begin to establish a new balance in the colony, allowing good flora to flourish. Fasting is a fundamental part of the spiritual practice to gain enlightenment. Muslims fast at Ramadan and Jews at Yom Kippur. In many indigenous cultures, seekers on a Vision Quest prime their brains with a combination of superfoods and fasting before going into a forest or other natural setting to open their minds to divine guidance. Fasting for up to three days is perfectly safe for most people in good health. (If you have any concerns, are diabetic, taking medication, or dealing with acute illness, do not fast without first consulting a physician.) Along with hunger pangs during the first day or so, you might experience mood swings, low energy, and irritability. Most of the discomfort comes from the fact that your body is detoxifying. After the body burns through the stored glucose, it goes into ketosis as it starts burning fats. You can tell when you’ve switched to burning fats because your hunger pangs will go away. It is imperative to drink at least four liters of water a day while fasting. If you are not urinating every hour, you’re not drinking enough water. If at any time you feel very sick, or your blood sugar is dropping dangerously, break your fast. It’s a good idea to keep chocolate and some basic foods like nuts and dried fruit on hand in case of emergency. I personally have found fasting hugely beneficial on all levels. If you are not sure, start slowly, and get advice from a professional. <image:title>Blog - The Spiritual Meaning Of Seeing Feathers - Feathers have been considered symbols of spirituality in many cultures throughout history.</image:title>
<image:caption>In Native American traditions, feathers are seen as a connection to the spirit world and represent communication with the divine. In many other cultures, feathers are also associated with angels or other spiritual beings. Seeing feathers can be a sign of encouragement or a message from the spiritual realm. It may symbolize the presence of a loved one who has passed away or a guardian angel trying to communicate with you. Feathers can also represent freedom, lightness, and the ability to rise above challenges. If you keep seeing feathers, pay attention to the colors and the location where you find them. White feathers may symbolize purity and peace, while black ones may represent protection and grounding. Feathers found in significant locations, such as your home or workplace, may carry a specific message for you. Ultimately, the spiritual meaning of seeing feathers is unique to each individual and their beliefs. Trust your intuition and let the feathers guide you towards your spiritual path. Feathers have been associated with various metaphysical meanings across different cultures and religions. In general, feathers are seen as a symbol of divine intervention, spiritual ascension, and higher consciousness. Seeing feathers is often interpreted as a sign that angels or spirit guides are trying to communicate with you, offering comfort, guidance, and protection. In Native American traditions, feathers are considered sacred objects that represent the power of the bird spirit and its connection to the Great Spirit. Each feather has a specific meaning and is used in rituals and ceremonies to honor the spirits and ancestors. In other spiritual traditions, feathers are seen as a reminder to pay attention to your intuition, trust your inner wisdom, and stay connected to your soul’s purpose. Seeing feathers may also indicate a need to let go of old patterns or beliefs and embrace new opportunities for growth and transformation. Overall, the metaphysical meaning of seeing feathers varies depending on the context and your own spiritual beliefs. However, it is always a positive sign that you are on the right path and that the universe is supporting your journey. Often feathers will just appear in front of you. They may fall from the sky, or blow across your path, or just appear next to you. Sometimes it is sent to you just to confirm you are not alone and are on the right track. When this happens thank your angels, spirit guides and loved ones that have passed. Sometimes I like to pick it up and keep it as a reminder I am not alone and that my guides and spirit are with me. Feathers come in many different colours and shapes. They can be small and brown and speckled. Black, or white, or black and white. Large or small. Be aware of these colours and feel how these feathers speak to you. White feathers can represent angels, whereas black and white or coloured feathers can be from your spirit guides. Whatever they are there can be a special spiritual meaning of them coming into your life. If you want to learn more meditate and ask your guides for more information. In Munay, Jamie</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - What Is Your Power Animal? - A spirit animal is a spiritual guide or totem that represents an individual or a group.</image:title>
<image:caption>It is believed that spirit animals offer guidance, protection, and support in times of need. Your spirit animal is a reflection of your personality, traits, and strengths. It is often an animal that you feel a strong connection with, whether through dreams, visions, or real-life encounters. Spirit animals can be found in many cultures and traditions, and each animal has its own unique symbolism and meaning. By connecting with our spirit animal, we can tap into our inner wisdom and gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and our place in the world. From earliest times, humankind has used animals as totems and symbols of the highest ideals – the lion as a symbol of strength, the lamb as the purity of God, the serpent and eagle as symbols of the sacred principles of the universe. Mesoamerican societies worshiped the winged serpent Quetzalcoatl, a god who was master of the winds and the sky, and the protector of his people. In Greek mythology, Medusa’s scalp writhed with live snakes, symbolic of her sovereign female wisdom. The hero Hercules was often depicted wearing a lion skin, which gave him the beast’s cunning, strength, and dominance. In the Bible, King Solomon is referred to as the “lion of Judea,” and Jesus is called the “lamb of God.” In the Hindu religion, cows are held to be sacred. The zodiac has animals as symbols, as does the Chinese calendar. Cultural identifications with animals are so strong that entire civilizations have taken them as symbols. The mighty lion has long represented England; the industrious honeybee, a symbol of immortality and resurrection, was chosen by both Charlemagne and Napoleon to represent France. Perhaps the most omnipresent animal symbol of all is the eagle, adopted by both ancient and modern cultures around the world, such as the Greeks, Egyptians, Sumerians, Hittites, and Romans. The bald eagle represents the might and freedom of the United States. Even automakers use animal imagery to symbolize their products because potential buyers intuitively respond to certain animal attributes. We expect the Jaguar sports car to be sleek, fast, and elite; the Dodge Ram SUV to be sure-footed on rocky terrain. Four archetypal animals are particularly important to the Laika of Peru. The serpent symbolizes knowledge, sexuality, and the healing power of nature. The jaguar represents strength, courage, and the power of transformation. The eagle (or condor) symbolizes foresight, clarity, vision and the self-transcending principle of nature. The hummingbird symbolizes courage, strength, and guidance. When shamans open and close sacred space, we invoke these spirit animals, representing the four core principles of life. Apart from archetypal images, most of us have lost our sense of connectedness to all but the most domesticated of animals. But whether we are aware of it or not, we all have power animals that symbolize the instinctual aspects of our soul in its natural, most unspoiled state. When we call for a power animal, Spirit provides us with whatever we need – we do not get to choose. In fact we may retrieve one that is entirely unforeseen, or actively disliked. The animal that comes to us represents an instinctual part of ourselves that we may have become disconnected from – or even find distasteful. Working with a power animal is an instinctual process about who we are becoming, not about who we would prefer to be. It is up to us to learn its attributes as it reveals its wisdom. <image:title>Blog - Ceremonies and Rites of Passage - Ceremonies and rites of passage are an important aspect of human culture.</image:title>
<image:caption>Many of you know the importance of bringing together communities and families through Ceremonies and Rites of Passage is at this special time. Ceremonies and rites of passage are an important aspect of human culture. They provide a sense of belonging and identity, as well as marking important milestones in life. These rituals can take many forms, from religious ceremonies to secular events like graduations or weddings. They often involve symbolic actions or gestures that reflect the values and beliefs of a particular community. By participating in these ceremonies, individuals gain a deeper understanding of their place in society and the world around them. In this way, ceremonies and rites of passage help to strengthen social bonds and provide a framework for personal growth and development. Rites of Passage are ceremonies that acknowledge major initiations (transitions) in a persons’ life. They are observed in various ways around the world, although modern societies tend to focus on birthdays, coming of age (Sweet 16, Quinceañeras, bar and bat mitzvahs), marriage and death – skipping many important transitions in a person’s life-cycle. Ancient societies, native communities and shamans understand the importance of consciously closing each stage of life in order to enter, fully present, into a new cycle. A shaman’s map for the great journey of life includes the major initiations of birth, manhood or womanhood, first love, marriage (and sometimes divorce), parenthood, sagehood, and death. It’s possible that you won’t go through all of these passages in a biological sense or at the usual time of life. For example, some people never marry or have children. Yet each of us, regardless of gender or culture, must go through them mythically at least once. If you have no son or daughter, you may write a book or produce some other creative project that will be your “baby.” You will be “born” again as you start a new life in another city or change careers, and parts of you will “die” metaphorically with the losses and changes that life brings. Initiations are inevitable. Every initiation presents the opportunity for illumination – to awaken your divine nature, identify with the realm of the creators, experience grace, and break free of the realm of scarcity and the brutish, predatory existence that most of humanity endures. Rites of Passage allow us to gain maturity, wisdom and inner peace; to examine and honor what may not have been fully recognized in the process of daily living, and to acknowledge with gratitude what may have been forgotten. With each Rite of Passage, we let go of the past in order to gain inner peace, wisdom, stability, generosity, purity of intent, courage, compassion, temperance, vision, strength, power and humility. When we don’t celebrate the Rites of Passage, we have unfinished business and may unconsciously be gripped by wrath, greed, lust, sloth, envy, gluttony, or pride. By celebrating a Rite of Passage into a new life cycle, we experience genuine rebirth: -Instead of struggling with belonging, self-worth and anger, we gain inner peace and the certainty of connection with all our relations. -Instead of feeling resentful or becoming obsessed with materialism and power, we find healing in the power of generosity. -Instead of being the eternal single, ambivalent about relationships, expecting our partner to meet all our needs and being unwilling to work at creating a genuine partnership, we find healing in the power of authentic courage. -Instead of living our life through our children, our projects, or being envious of those who seem to have more options, we find healing through compassion. -Instead of being crippled by a sense of scarcity and loss, and the desire to regain what is no more, healing is achieved through temperance. -Instead of becoming arrogant and self-important, we find healing in humility. While a shaman is not essential, each Rite of Passage requires sacred space, intention, conscious presence, ceremony, symbolic death and community. When we open sacred space we remember that we are connected with the cosmos, with Nature, with the spiritual world and all our relations. By creating ceremony, we remember that we are part of a mystery and great consciousness that gives profound meaning and purpose to our lives. A community (of friends, family, or peers) provides the empowerment of witnesses to the process. Rites of Passage not only enable a much deeper connection to ourselves, they facilitate compassionate understanding of who we are, and why we are walking upon the earth. And in the process, we experience profound gratitude for the gift of life.
